Week 1: Athletic Agility & Footwork
We will be working with agility ladders, hexagons, cone drills. Emphasis will be on teaching the athletes precision of their feet, working on strengthening their ankle & foot structure, and how to move properly and efficiently with no waisted steps.
Week 2: Speed, Power, & Plyometrics
This week will involve doing sled work, parachute runs, chicken runs, hip thrusts. Emphasis will be on developing hip and glute mechanics to generate power and speed. We will go over the fundamentals of resistance bands, sprints, lunges, and explosive kneeling take-offs with medicine balls. Plyometrics day will teach athletes how to properly absorb their weight, and to explode and push-off the ground to strengthen their tendons and joints.
Week 3: Stability, Flexibility & Balance
Here we will use a variation of different unstable platforms that will help the athlete really understand how to stabilize and be in-tune with their body. Trainings for this week will place a major emphasis on injury prevention.
Week 4: Hand Eye Coordination
The last week will focus on working on the athlete’s reaction time, reflexes, and improving catching, shooting, and throwing.
